MAATI KATHA – Call For Submissions

Greetings!

MAATI is excited to launch MAATI KATHA, a biannual publication set to debut in February and August. While we are diligently working towards our first issue, we are currently seeking contributors who share passion for heritage conservation and architectural sustainability.

Our objectives are to disseminate knowledge, inspire innovation, and promote cultural and architectural appreciation. We aim to encourage community engagement, advocate for policy change, build a collaborative network, and support artisans and traditional skills, all while preserving and celebrating India’s rich heritage.

As we prepare for our first publication, we invite contributors to join us in our endeavour to preserve and celebrate India’s cultural and architectural heritage. The theme for MAATI Katha Magazine, Issue 01, delves into the intricate relationship between natural landscapes and architectural identity, uncovering how these intertwined elements narrate the story of our cultural heritage.

THEME: Rooted Realms: Exploring Cultural Landscapes and Architectural Identity

DESCRIPTION: This theme investigates the close relationship between the natural environment and architectural identity. It looks at how geography influences building design and how architecture serves as a mirror to the culture of a region. Through various studies, the submissions will highlight regions where the landscape and architectural styles are deeply connected, demonstrating the powerful role of the environment in cultural preservation.

Submission Details:

  • Deadline: 15 October 2024
  • Requirements: We are seeking submissions in the form of articles, research papers, case studies and essays in not more than 2000 words.
