THEME: Crafted Cities: Weaving Culture into Urban Fabric
MAATI KATHA Magazine invites photographers to showcase their talent by submitting photographs that highlight the fusion of traditional crafts and urban landscapes. Following the tremendous response we received for our inaugural issue, which is set to launch soon, we are thrilled to announce the call for photographers for our second issue.
We are looking for images that explore the following:
- Traditional Craft in Urban Spaces
Photographs that capture how traditional crafts are embedded in the urban environment, whether through architectural details, street art, or artisanal goods. These images should reflect the harmonious integration of heritage and modern city life. - Traditional Crafts and Urban Identity
Shots that highlight the role of traditional crafts in shaping the identity of cities. We are interested in photographs of workshops, artisans at work, and how their crafts influence both the physical and cultural landscape of urban spaces. - Craft Revival and Preservation
Photographs that showcase the revival and preservation of endangered crafts in the urban context. This could include images of craft fairs, revitalisation projects, and community efforts aimed at safeguarding traditional skills. - The Role of Crafts in Daily Urban Life
Scenes that depict how crafts permeate daily life in urban areas, whether through the products used in households, the revival of craft markets, or the dynamic between modernity and tradition in urban settings. - Artisanal Tourism and Community Engagement
Photographs that illustrate the intersection of tourism and artisanal communities, highlighting how urban spaces and traditional crafts contribute to cultural preservation, community resilience, and economic sustainability.

- Requirements: Please submit unedited photographs in 300 dpi resolution, ideal for professional print quality.
